GR10 Pyrenees day 13, to Gabas

Good weather and good good hiking in the alpine. Up to a pass at 2185m and the first marmots I’ve seen on the hike.

The internet connection here is slow and quits sometimes. I’m tired after a long day. Another long one ahead tomorrow. Enjoy the photos.

Entry to the gîte I stayed at last night.

  1. Looks like a great day’s walking and a lovely place to stop walking too.Perfect.
Keep up the great photos, we’re reading even if not always responding.

    Cheers

  2. Dear Roy,
Super interesting trip, esp. your fabulous photos, historical facts and keen observations. Entry to gite is beautifully framed. Pet Patou reminds us of your large and lovable Boudi, my dear buddy on Tour BC. Confident he is frolicking in dog heaven.
    Aloha, B & G

  3. Hiya Roy,

You do know how to draw us in .. that first picture is amazing.

Both Sander and I are in awe of the Chemin de la Máture .. not sure I dare walk it though :-).

Great that the marmots are out. Any chance of spotting lynx, bears, vultures or deer on your trip? Seen any adders/vipers yet? Do they have a broad variety of bird of prey?

    love,
    Nienke & Sander
