GR10 Pyrenees day 7, to Col Bagargiak

BIRU-WP-33.jpegA more difficult day with about 1500m of climbing. The weather was cloudy and at times very misty, but no rain until the end of the day after I was safe in the gîte.

Seven climbs today, some quite steep and always some downhill before the next climb. The highest point today was 1456m, followed, unfortunately, by a steep descent to 990m (at least it was through a lovely beech forest), followed, of course, by another climb. Tonight’s gîte is at 1327m in a winter/summer sports area. Tomorrow night is in a town at 375m. It is up and down.

I made good time today and feel better than I expected. The first week may have been a little boring, but it was good training.

It was great to be up high today. The mist limited the views and the photos but it felt good. More sheep and horses as well as some stone circles that aren’t much to look at, but are thought to be about 3000 years old.

Down to the bottom then up that hill. Doesn't look that steep from above, but it begins with stairs!

  1. I really love being “in France” each morning! The photos are stunning.
