Pyrenees Day 17, to Cauterets

A short day, only two and a half hours walking down from the refuge to the busy resort town of Cauterets. It has all facilities. The first thing I did was stop for a real coffee with some other hikers. After two and a half weeks my hiking clothes got a real wash in a laundromat, much cleaner than hand washing. I had a big salad for lunch rather than cheese on a baguette. I’m in a lovely gîte that has wifi and let me in at 11:30 in the morning.

  1. Now a real adventurer, would have picked up one of those boulders and beaten their dirty wash to smithereens in that pristine mountain lake rather than heading to a manmade laundromat – haha!!
