Les Contamines to Refuge de la Croix de Bonhomme
Another sunny day except for a brief shower. Last night we were at 1160m, tonight we are in a refuge at 2444m. That is the highest elevation for a sleep so far. Lots of climbing today but not really hard.
Again today we share the same route as the tour of Mt Blanc, a very popular route. The refuge is busy. Also, the solar hot water system isn’t working properly so only cold showers (our second shower today), but the refuge has a good feel and we like it The food and conversation were great, and bouquetin (mountain goats) did a walk along the ridge above us at sunset.
