Tofino and Long Beach

Last week we spent a few days near Tofino on the west coast of Vancouver Island, just north of Long Beach and Pacific Rim National Park. This is open Pacific coast with long sandy beaches and variable weather. In just a few days we experienced lots of rain, some snow, two warm sunny spring-like days and two clear nights with the sky full of stars. We spent most of our time there walking the beach.

Here are some photos:

  1. Oh how I yearned to be on Long Beach again after seeing your beautiful photos. Tofino is wonderful any time of year. Thank you for keeping in touch. Love it.

  2. Dear Roy & Inge,

What magnificent photos. Roy, you are an amazing photographer with a natural eye for composition, color and framing of objects. Each photo was a louder ah and oh!
We have bicycled Tofino (with & without Tour BC), walked Long Beach and watched the surfers, kayak camped and stayed at Middle Beach Lodge with Roger over the years. It is one of our favorite places and your photos brought back such fabulous memories! Mahalo nui loa for sharing. Aloha, Bill & Gretchen

    • It is a great place.

The photos are both mine and Inge’s. She has a good eye and we see differently; it makes a good mix.

Have a wonderful time on the trip to Alaska. We look forward to your photos.

      Roy
