Two quotes about cycling

It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle. –Ernest Hemingway

Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime. Teach a man to cycle and he will realize fishing is stupid and boring. –Desmond Tutu

  1. Ya, but I bet that neither Hemingway nor Tutu did any skydiving in Peterborough. Ain’t that right, Inge?!! ; )

  2. May all your route be as beautiful (and as a flat!) as the area in the banner.

  3. I have always admired Desmond Tutu. As for Hemingway, you could say much the same thing about hiking. It all comes down to available time.

  4. I like your banner photo Roy, really nice composition! Almost makes me want to go for a ride…almost.

    • Thank you. That was in Austria two years ago. With a little cropping it fit perfectly as a header image.
